I worked SO hard to get into Law, it was all I’d ever dreamed of and I’ve lost count of the endless hours I spent memorising case law, reading statutes and learning Latin, just to get in. It felt like one of the hardest fights of my life but then I made it.
I assumed that meant that the happiness would last forever, decision made, job done. I was wrong.
After just five years the 60 hour weeks were starting to take their toll, I seemed to be working harder, feeling less happy and found myself repeatedly hitting the glass ceiling. During this time I found Angelic Reiki.
I went for regular sessions to help me with the stress, sleepless nights and constant anxiety about work. A couple of years in, I knew I was ready to go deeper but I was still desperately clinging onto the life I’d worked so hard to build.
So I stayed in my career, moved departments and began working even longer hours on even more distressing cases until I physically couldn’t do it anymore. I couldn’t get up, move out of bed or continue any kind of ‘normal’ life. That was when the wake-up call finally came.
I had to put myself first.
Everything shifted in 2021 when I dropped one working day per week to start my business properly. I worked out my finances, built my client base, created my business pages and within one month I handed in my notice.
It was one of the most terrifying decisions I’ve ever made, but I had a vision and lots of trust in the Universe and myself.
The only downside was that I had no real plan or guidance on how to run a successful business. I applied the same formula I’d applied to Law at the beginning and tried to work as hard as possible for as many hours as I could and it worked for a time, I had a growing business that was taking up all my time.
Quickly I learnt that I didn’t need to work the same crazy hours I’d put in before, I could work flexibly, take afternoons off and even choose not to work at weekends! Once I got the formula right everything changed for me and now I work how, when and IF I want to.
